stories about hackers and actually think that we live under the
ground?They think we dwell in the back alleys and sewers
of towns far away,like the dirty,sweaty
villains they see on tevelision.Most people have no idea that members of
the so-called hacker underground sit one pew away from them in church
every Sunday,process their credit cards at
their favorite stories in the mall,play
basketball on the same team as their sons or daughters, and work in
sensitive areas of businesses all over the country , even business that
specialize in , of all things, computer security.Scary,huh?
Yeah ,but it’s true.
-My hacking education shifted into high gear when I discovered this thing called IRC.
-A hacker’s handle is his identity.
-it doesn’t make him Hitler,the butcher of Belgrade,or Osama bin Laden.He’s just a hacker.
-Don’t ask me if I’m a “black hat” or a
“white hat” hacker- labels are for lamers,those who don’t know what
hacking is really all about.Black or white,bad or good.Who cares?No
label can define who I am,what I’ve done,or why I
did it.Not even my lawyers can figure that
out.But I will tell you that I’m misunderstood and stand wrongly
accused of crimes that are not crimes at all.
